Dining out during COVID-19

Updated: Aug 17, 2020

If you’re cautious to dine out because of COVID-19, here are 3 tips to reduce the risks and help put your mind at ease.

1. Outdoor dining

Whilst restaurants are carrying out measures to make their venues as safe as possible, droplets are naturally more likely to recirculate indoors than they are outdoors.

Eating outdoors is safer as it prevents infectious droplets from staying in the air due to natural circulation and ventilation.

2. Book ahead

As restaurants have reduced capacity, it’s better to book in advance.

This will help the venue control their numbers and prevent you from queuing outside, making it a safer experience.

Check the website of the venue to see their implemented measures.

3. Carry your own hand wash/sanitiser

Even though venues will have hand wash and sanitiser available, carrying your own could lower the number of touchpoints you come into contact with, and will reduce the number of occasions you have to enter the venue if you’re sitting outside.

Clean your hands frequently, but especially at certain times, such as, before you’re about to eat and when you leave the venue.
