The hospitality industry is excited to finally reopen tomorrow, and whilst everyone would love to go full steam ahead and resume business like before, slow and steady is definitely the approach to take.
Everyone is trying to do the best to accommodate their customers in ways that creates an experience and ensures their safety.
So what can you expect from your favourite restaurant?
Enhanced hygiene measures
Many are adapting their current protocols to further protect customers and employees.
Here are possible measures you can expect to see:
Surfaces cleaned more regularly
Smaller seating capacity with tables being spaced out
Less staff working
Outdoor seating
Fewer touchpoints - for instance, where possible, doors will be wedged open
Increased ventilation
Contactless payments will be encouraged over the use of cash
Hand sanitiser will be easily accessible
Facilities such as toilets will be cleaned more frequently
To know what is happening at your favourite restaurant or bar, make sure you check out their social media channels.
How you can help
This is a completely new territory for restaurants and bars, and right now, nothing matters more than preventing a second spike of Covid-19.
Whilst they’ve been trying to think of every possible way to make you feel as safe and comfortable upon reopening, restaurants and bars will be looking to you to help make it as successful as possible by voicing your thoughts.
Telling a member of staff your suggestions about how they can improve your level of comfortability would go a long way to help the safety of many!
Many places will be opening for two or three days a week and closing for the rest to re-evaluate the situation, carry out risk assessments, and hold staff training days.
Finding the balance between safety and fun is what this is all about so please be patient and before you know it, you’ll be able to dine out more than you’ve been ordering in!
It’s been a while since you have been able to taste your favourite foods, and whilst this will be a great experience on its own, it could be made even better.
